MACCHKS Moments

Each month subscribers will receive a personalized edition of the MACCHKS Moments memorylogue. We are a family of story telling travelers. Our adventures encompass more than five decades, four generations of experience, six continents, and over sixty countries visited. With the exception of the web logo, the monthly memorylogue contains only original content written in the hand and voice of, Ruth. Ruth is a newly retired government social services practitioner who lives in the boring burbs. While some navigated adulthood through accumulation, competition, and debt, Ruth couponed her way to early retirement. While saving, and living miserly, she simultaneously managed to have annual travels, internalize the notion of “living” before the popularization of “self-care,” and started an outrageous and unique photography collection. In the MACCHKS Moments, Ruth and her family use too many commas, run on sentences, and tangential meandering to share the stories that grew their souls, and created decades long reflexive smiles. The style isn’t heavily edited. It is common, accessible, and familiar. It is also an acquired taste… The Memorylogue has tips, and practical recommendations for comfortable safe traveling to best maximize precious and hard earned vacation time. Ruth has small, very legible handwriting. It is either beautiful, or irritating. One must give their eyes a moment to adjust, but once they do it is easy, and oddly mesmerizing (or so she was told by people at work who routinely noted her propensity for handwritten notes). MACCHKS Memories will sometimes include unique margin doodles or other art from Ruth’s teenage daughter. Special editions will have original prints from the family’s adventures, and head-turning family member, Charlotte.
