Terms of Service

Last updated: February 1, 2026

1. Overview

Posthouse provides software tools that help artists manage subscriptions and monthly mailing lists for physical mail clubs.

Posthouse does not create, produce, package, ship, or guarantee any physical mail or artwork sent by artists.

By using Posthouse, you agree to these Terms.

In short: Posthouse helps you manage who gets mail — we don't send the mail ourselves.

2. Who Posthouse Is For

Posthouse is intended for:

  • Artists — people who run recurring physical mail clubs and use Posthouse to manage subscriptions, batches, and mailing addresses.
  • Subscribers — people who join mail clubs through artist-managed pages on Posthouse.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an artist account.

In short: Artists run mail clubs. Subscribers join them. Both use Posthouse.

3. Posthouse's Role

Posthouse is a software platform only. We provide tools for:

  • Subscription management
  • Monthly batch assignment based on cutoff dates
  • Address collection and organization
  • Data exports and address viewing
  • Transactional emails (confirmations, status updates)

Posthouse is not:

  • A fulfillment or shipping service
  • A payment processor (payments go through Stripe)
  • A marketplace
  • A guarantor of mail delivery, timing, or content

We do not control what artists send, how they send it, or when it arrives. Any interactions, agreements, or disputes are solely between artists and subscribers.

In short: We make the software. Artists handle everything about the actual mail.

4. Artist Responsibilities

Artists are solely responsible for:

  • The content of all mailed materials
  • Production, packaging, and mailing
  • Shipping timelines and delivery outcomes
  • Handling lost, delayed, or damaged mail
  • Customs, international shipping, and postal compliance
  • Refunds, replacements, or subscriber disputes
  • How they use subscriber personal data (see Privacy Policy)

Posthouse does not intervene in disputes between artists and subscribers.

Artists may change pricing, cutoff dates, or club details at their discretion. These changes may affect future batches but do not retroactively alter completed shipments.

In short: You run your club. You're responsible for what you send and how you handle issues.

5. Subscriptions & Billing

  • Subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly basis unless canceled
  • Monthly cutoff dates determine which subscribers are included in a given batch
  • Failed or incomplete payments may exclude a subscriber from a batch
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe acts as an independent processor and is governed by its own privacy policy. Posthouse does not store or access full payment credentials.

Inclusion in a specific monthly batch is not guaranteed and depends on successful payment, cutoff timing, and subscription status at the time the batch is sealed.

Refunds are handled at the artist's discretion. Posthouse cannot process refunds on behalf of artists.

In short: Stripe handles payments. Batch inclusion depends on payment timing. Artists handle refunds.

6. Platform Fees

Posthouse is free to use until an artist earns $150/month in subscription revenue. After that threshold, Posthouse charges a 3% platform fee on subscription revenue.

Standard Stripe processing fees also apply and are separate from Posthouse fees.

In short: Free until $150/month. Then 3%. Plus normal Stripe fees.

7. Acceptable Use

You may not use Posthouse for:

  • Any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive activity
  • Content or activity prohibited by Stripe (see Stripe's Restricted Businesses list)
  • Harassment, abuse, or hate speech
  • Infringing on intellectual property rights

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

In short: Don't do anything illegal, fraudulent, or prohibited by Stripe.

8. Taxes

Artists are solely responsible for determining, collecting, reporting, and remitting any taxes (including income tax, VAT, GST, sales tax, or similar) as required by applicable laws.

Posthouse does not collect taxes on behalf of artists, provide tax advice, or bear responsibility for tax compliance.

In short: Your taxes are your responsibility. We don't handle them.

9. Platform Availability

We aim to keep Posthouse reliable and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

Features may change or evolve as the platform grows. We will notify users of significant changes.

Some features may be experimental or evolving. We may adjust or remove features to improve the platform.

In short: We do our best, but can't guarantee 100% uptime. Features may evolve.

10. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Are used for unlawful activity
  • Abuse the platform or other users

Artists may cancel their accounts at any time through account settings.

In short: Break the rules, lose access. You can also leave anytime.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Posthouse is not liable for:

  • Lost, delayed, or undelivered mail
  • Content created or sent by artists
  • Subscriber dissatisfaction with artist content
  • Postal or shipping failures
  • Disputes between artists and subscribers
  • Indirect or consequential damages

Use of Posthouse is at your own risk.

In short: We provide the software. We're not responsible for what happens with the mail.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes. Continued use of Posthouse after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

In short: Terms may change. We'll let you know about big updates.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Delaware.

In short: Delaware law applies.
